JACK ROGERS WINS OVERALL AT REGIONAL FAST FIVE
Truro City had a small but speedy contingent of seven swimmers at the exciting Regional Fast Five competition held at Gloucester on Sunday 3rd July.
Swimmers compete in their regional age groups in all the 50s and 100IM over two sessions to amass a total of points which determine overall positions. Jack Rogers was crowned King of the 16 year olds swimming superbly through all the strokes, winning the 50 back and 100IM. A fantastic achievement with tough competition from the region. Our super seven swam hard and fast with many PBs tumbling. Notably Jodie Kotenko for the 16s swam strongly and smashed to third in the 50 breast and Isabelle Leigh for the 12s stormed to third in the 50 fly. With Truro achieving the Grand Slam taking all five County titles this year Jack Roger’s regional title is the icing on the cake.
Our swimmers were: Luke Barnsley, Anya Hocking, Jodie Kotenko, Isabelle Leigh, Tom Leigh, Mikey Pond and Jack Rogers.
CONGRATULATIONS TO TCSC’S YOUTH AND AGE GROUP REGIONAL SWIMMERS
Huge well done to Team Truro’s Regional Squads.
The ASA South West Summer Championships for Youths was held at Plymouth Life Centre over the early May bank holiday weekend. This highly competitive competition saw our small but mighty contingent of Truro City regional qualifiers swim hard and fast to produce some outstanding pbs and noteworthy performances.
The ASA South West Summer Championships for the age groups was held over two sequential weekends, 14th to 15th May at Hengrove in Bristol and 21st to 22nd May at Millfield. Team Truro were proud to field such a large age group swimming force who had met the tough qualification criteria to compete at such a high level, whether earning their first regional spot or coming in as returners.

STRONG SWIMMING FROM TEAM TRURO AT NEWQUAY CORMORANTS OPEN 2016
The Newquay Cormorants Open Meet held on Sunday 8th May at the Bodmin Leisure Centre provided a great day of racing for young swimmers aged 9 to 13. This popular gala had the added benefit of offering finals for the top 6 qualifiers in the 50m events with additional trophies to age group medals. For some Truro City swimmers this was their first ‘serious’ gala in which they could aim for pbs and the chance to secure qualification times for future competitions. TRURO CITY SMASH IT AGAIN FOR AN EMPHATIC VICTORY AT THE JUNIOR INTERCLUB 2016
With a clear victory of 60 points ahead of rival clubs Truro City oozed class and confidence across 9 – 12 year old age groups at the annual Junior Interclub competition held at Penzance Leisure Centre on Saturday 16th January.
Truro City went in as reigning champions. This year all Cornwall clubs competed in the one gala, held over two sessions and covering individual 50m stroke events and team freestyle and medley relays with the exciting boys and girls freestyle canons (involving two swimmers from each age group) starting and ending the gala. Each event had two heats and Truro City notched up an impressive amount of first places with the majority of other swims scoring highly in the top four helping to maximise points. Team spirit was excellent and every swimmer was cheered on heartily by their team mates.
Coach Emily was justly proud of her juniors for giving their all and many came away with PBs which bodes well for the rapidly approaching County Championships in February. Click here for more details
