Welcome to the Truro City Swimming Club website.
Situated in Cornwall the most beautiful and south western county in the UK.
Truro City Swimming Club founded before 1928 and revitalised in 1973 remains the premier swimming club in the County. Using a modern pool facility at Truro Leisure Centre, with 6 X 25m lanes and electronic timing it has been the most competitively successful club in Cornwall for the past 15 years.
In Emily Dart (Bio) the clubs Head Coach, the club is fortunate to have one of the very few Level 4 qualified coaches in the country, supported by her superb team of coaches (team), the club continues to grow and go from strength to strength. It has a very successful racing squad placed in the top 16 of South West England and Wales clubs and follow a progressive training programme which continues to delivery success. The club has had representation at Junior, Senior and National Level and also boasts some of the County's top Surf Life Savers as members a number who have represented Great Britain.
The Swim club has seen a number of great success, not only continually developing swimmers to compete at County and South West Regional level, but in 2007 (4 Swimmers), 2008 (4 swimmers), 2009 (1 swimmer) and 2010 (3 swimmers) were competing at ASA National level at Sheffield in July & August.
The Club welcomes swimmers of all abilities !

April 2012Truro City Swimming Club Competitive in Round 1 of the Cornwall & West Devon League 2012 ...
The Truro team journeyed in to Devon for Round 1 of the Cornwall & West Devon League Championships. The Championships which consists of 17 teams across Cornwall & West Devon competing, has a format of 3 rounds; the first 2 rounds are ranking meets where at the end of these rounds the top 6 ranked swim of for the shield in the third and final round.

Truro Swimmers attend International Swim Festival in Bad Bergzabern, Germany
A small team of club officials took a squad of 10 swimmers on the annual pilgrimage to Bad Bergzabern in Germany. Near the French border this international swim festival held over a weekend in March attracts swimmers from all nationalities, as far a field as Canada/USA to Eastern Europe.

March 2012The CCASA Intermediate Championships
This years County Intermediate Championships saw some of the newest members of Truro City swimming club get their first taste of competing against other swimmers from across Cornwall. The event hosted fro swimmers who just fell short of the County Block qualifying times is always a popular and well attended event.

March 2012Truro City Confirm Premier Club Status with 15th Ellis Cup Win in a Row
Truro City swimming club once again won the County "Ellis" cup. This cup is given to the best club at the county championships and has become a permanent fixture in the trophy cabinet for Truro City Swimming Club over the last few years.

March 2012New Sponsors support Swimming Club's New Shirt
Truro City Swim Club's Team Manager Mark Norton was delighted to announce the sponsorship of the clubs new swim shirt. The shirts given to all of the County and race team members was well received by the swimmers as they paraded along poolside during the County Block Championships and as the team collected the "Ellis" Trophy for a record 15th consecutive time.

Truro Swimmers off to a good start at the 2012 County Championships!
Last weekend saw the start to this year's swimming County Championships when the distance and relay events were held at Bodmins Dragon Leisure Centre over the Saturday & Sunday. For many of the Truro City Swimmers it was their first attempt at the distance events of 800m (32 lengths) & 1500m (60 lengths) and they did themselves and the club proud.

The Carn Brea 1st Winter Meet a success for Truro City Swimmers ...
Saturday 21st January saw Carn Brea Swimming Club welcolme swimmers from around Cornwall to compete at their inaugural Winter Open Meet at Penzance Leisure Centre. For many of the attending swimmers it was a last minute chance for them to achieve their County Block qualifing times and for others it was a chance to clear out the racing cobwebs and shake off the remnant of the christmas dinner.

New Head Coach makes an impact after an emotional goodbye ...
At the commencement of the 2011/12 season it was with a heavy heart the Head Coach Jane Deards and her brother Nick the Senior Coach decided that in December 2011 they would be stepping down from their coaching duties. Stalwarts of not only swim coaching in Conwall but individually great swimmers holding a number Truro and Cornish records between them, both had committed many years to the sport.

National Arena League Round 3 ...
Truro City Swimming Club made the 3 hour journey north on saturday the 10th of December 2011 , up the M5 to Millfield School in Somerset for the National Arena League Round 3 final and promotion decider. With the format changed to long course for the final, the 8 teams lined up ready to go as the last meet of the day.

Truro City at the Cornwall ASA Development Gala 2011 ...
The Cornwall ASA Development gala has been the initial proving ground for many of the great Truro City Swimmers of the past and present. The individual events held over a 50m often gives many of the county's youngsters a taste of competition at the next level also provides the opportunity to challenge their own personal bests times and to attain the required County Block qualifying times for the March event.

Truro City finish 2nd in the National Arena League Round 2, ahead of local rivals ...
Truro City Swimming Club travelled to Central Park in Plymouth on 12th of November 2011, to compete in the 2nd round of the National Arena swimming league, Division one. This second round competition had higher stakes than normal because not only would a strong team performance give Truro a chance at the making Division 1 final in Cardiff in December, it would also see a local clash against county rivals Bodmin.

Truro City Swimmers post some early times at 2011 Bodmin Open ...
The 5th of November certainly saw some fireworks from some of the junior Truro City swimmers at the 2011 Bodmin Open.
The second competitive swim meet of the cornish swim calendar made up of the shorter sprint distances of 50 and 100 metres suited many of the swimmers this early in the season.

Truro City Swimmers Challenge at Jersey Open 2011 ...
Truro City SC Head Coach Jane Deards and her assistants, Junior Coach Alan Reid and Swim Teacher Kate Smitham made the annual pilgrimage with a squad of 10 swimmers to compete in the AIB Tigers 30 Autumn Open Meet in Jersey at the Les Quennevais Sports Centre in St Brelade.
