March 2008 -
All the Truro City swimmers can be immensely proud of how they conducted themselves and performed over the first two weekends of March. Many of the results coming from the age group swimmers were outstanding. Two of the young female age group swimmers won the open finals of the 200m and 100m backstroke, with three other age group swimmers taking part in various finals. Junior and competition records tumbled with age group swimmers let lose in the great atmosphere that prevailed over the two weekends
The senior swimmers at Truro swimming club found that they dominated in their numbers and with individual performances claimed many top spots in the finals. From the total of 168 finalists from the weekend’s events, Truro swimmers were able to fill 71 of these places.
The youngest swimmers in the age groups have come away from the championships having gained experience, confidence and an insight into what can be achieved from their very own dedication and support from the teaching and coaching staff.
A large number of swimmers achieved district qualifying times for the WCASA youth and 16/17years + championships which takes place on the 3rd/4th/5th May and the WCASA age group bagcat competition which take place later in the year at Millfield on the 7th /8th and 14th/15th of June.
A big well done to everyone.
