Cornwall ASA County Championships 2009
With thirty four junior and senior titles up for grabs over the last two weekends of the county championships Truro city once again dominated these junior and senior titles by taking 27 of a possible 64. This shows that the training programme within this SWIM 21 club is in the best interest of long term development assisting the swimmer to find their potential over the long term rather than just at the younger age group stage.
Two of Truro city swimmers did the treble by each winning all of the individual medleys. Michael Grant winning all the men’s senior individual medley championship titles and Kay de Courcy taking all the junior and senior women’s Individual Medley championship titles.
National swimmers Josie Williams and Amelia Grigg did not disappoint with Josie completely dominating the women’s 200m freestyle and taking the age group, junior and senior titles. Amelia found her form in the 50m breaststroke in a junior and senior championship win.
Jack Middleton carried on his winning ways with convincing title wins in the 200 fly and 100m/ 200m backstroke. Elder statesman Andrew Cooke pulled out a great senior championship win in the 400m Freestyle.
All of these results and the age group competition best times of which there are many and the full bagcat results can be found on the county web site.
