Truro City Swimmers perform well at the Gloucester Open ...

A small group of Truro City swimmers travelled out of the County again this weekend and attended the 2010 Gloucester Open. A level two open meet saw swimmers around the region attending in hope of improving on times already secured throughout the year, for some it was in the hope to further their amount of regional or national qualifying times.
Dominic Goodwin had a superb weekend winning the top boy in the 11year age category. With 10 personal best times including 8 first place finishes, 3 seconds and 1 third. He also added the 200 freestyle and 200 breaststroke regional qualifying times to his list of swims for the up and coming regional Age Group Championships next month in June. Having already secured national qualifying times in the 200m and 100m backstroke Dominic is having a great season.
Nicolas Laws After heading the boys county 9 year old county bagcat competition Nicholas Laws pulled out a great swim to achieve his first Age Group regional time in the 50m freestyle.
For a number of the young swimmers like Robin Edwards who enjoyed and challenged in her swims, they will have found this experience helpful to take forward to other away open meets.
Courtney Lee Reid added the 400m individual medley to her swims at the Regional Age Group Championships in June and Kay de Courcy achieved her objective and targeted the 400m individual medley event to achieve the 2010 national qualifying time which she comfortably did in a time of 5.00.89.
