Truro City Confirm Premier Club Status with Ellis Cup Success

Truro City swimming club successfully won back the County "Ellis" cup. This cup steeped in cornish swimming history is given to the  best overall club at the annual county championship.

Points accumalated and combined from the county relay (Truro City 2nd) in February at Penzance LC, the gruelling distance meet (Truro City joint 1st place) over long course at the Life Centre Plymouth in February and the main county blocks held over consecutive weekends at Penzance LC and Bodmin Dragon Centre in March  saw Truro City came out on top with 951 points with last years winners St Ives Bay pushing Truro very close on 904 points; with only 47 points between the two clubs come final results in second and Carn Brea and Helston in third on 792.5 points

The overall final standings placed in order of points are:

4 Penzance 658
5 Newquay 621
6 Bodmin 492
7 St Austell 401
8 Launceston 371.5
9 Wadebridge 295
10 Caradon 224
11 TR1 51
12 Bude 31



Congratulations to one and all for tremendous pbs, great swims, medals for the lucky ones but above all a fantastic team spirit to take us on into yet more success in the future.   

Lastly a massive thank you to Emily Dart, her coaching team, the poolside Counties support from Mark Norton, Kate Smitham, Nic Blake, Tracey Clapton and Val Rice.  Val again for all her behind the scenes hard work, the committee, Ian Laws for being our host announcer and all who stood in and helped run Truro City's County session in Penzance AND parents and friends who support and nurture their children.
